This was a very sweet book about finding oneself and acceptance. I love the title and how it fits into the whole meaning of the book. I really liked the chemistry between Eli and Violet and their overall story. So, why a three then? I felt the book was a little disjointed and simplistic. I had no emotional reaction either way throughout most of the book, but it was not bad just not amazing. Nothing new jumped out at me, and I have read many step-brother books. It is a hard genre to jump into and each book has to have its own hook. This one involves the cutest dog and one of my favorite characters. The dog is the catalyst and gives love throughout the book keeping everyone in check. Again, a very sweet read and loved the lessons learned.

Violet & Eli are two college age young adults who find each other hard to tolerate. They've been forced into a step-sibling relationship by their parents marriage to one another. Violet has her life mapped out for her by her controlling father..... college, business degree, work -- no room for the art she loves. Eli is a free spirit enjoying young adult hood by switching majors & hooking-up as the need arises. They don't hid their contempt for one another until Violet has to help Eli with his sick beloved pet dog, Boomer. When Boomer is finally in the clear they share one kiss & everything changes. Violet struggles with her attraction to her step-brother because of what it will mean to others. She wants Eli but fights herself in every way possible. When she finally makes her stand & says no to her father, she walks away from Eli. But an unexpected accident brings them all back together quickly & they each find a way to love one another for who they are.

I liked this book. It is meant for mature readers -- there are some steamy sex scenes! It is a short story & skips most of the time frame when the main characters are apart. I would recommend this book if you are looking for an afternoon read.

Eli Cooper and Violet Holt have not been on the nest of terms since Violet's dad married Eli's mom a year ago. They seem to hate each other which is evident when Eli's dog Boomer is destroying Violet's underwear.

When Boomer is taken to the vet in an emergency situation Violet and Eli share a passionate kiss and the two realize how attracted they are to other although both are aware of how wrong it is. Yet one thing leads to another and mistakes are made.

As Violet struggles with her inner conscious in regards to Eli she is also struggling with going to school to make her father proud of her. She hates school but is afraid to disappoint him. In a world where she is trying to be perfect to everyone but herself will she finally chose her own path or will she let others cost her love and happiness?

I really enjoyed this book! I wasn't sure what to expect with the whole step-brother/sister relationship but I was pleasantly surprised!

Violet is so worried about what others expect of her that she continues to do what is considered the "right" thing instead of following her dreams and own passions. I felt so bad that her dad belittled her artistic ability as it wasn't practical. Yet she kept following his dreams until it cost her.

I really liked Eli and couldn't believe he had to put up with the constant put downs from Violet's dad. I was surprised that his mom didn't do more but I love his mom's strength at the end and how she truly held the power.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and i certainly hope she continues to write more!

I enjoy reading books that have the step brother/step sister thing going on an this one did fit the bill. There was that hidden excitement about being caught, there was the extra drama of the parents, and of course their own drama with all the things that happen in the book. It was definitely a fast paced book and you can read this book in a couple of hours. The characters were developed so you can enjoy learning about each of them. I really liked Eli. He was sorta a playboy, but not really because he just wanted to enjoy life. I liked how the story started over eli's dog. It was really an inventive way to find a way for them to connect, even if it was over a dog. You could feel the chemistry in this book and Eli living life made the book fun. Violet is your do whatever my father said type of girl, and it worked for this book. Her discipline, but also her need to try something new helped the book. They were a great couple, but of course all couples have issues and they are definitely no different. But the old question is with all the issues of being step siblings, do they even stand a chance?

I really enjoyed this author and it was a fun book. Being my first time reading this author I"m really glad that it was a book that was worth the read. I can only hope to read more and be able to recommend this author to my friends. I am so glad it was not a cliff hanger and the book was complete.
